This one-of-a-kind commemorative poster was created by Signal Return Press in partnership with The Work Dept. It was printed from hand-carved linoleum blocks which were placed on a letterpress. Multiple colors were applied to the rollers to achieve the blending of the ink.
The studio, located in Eastern Market, is first and foremost a working letterpress studio that sets the stage for all of the programming and activities on which the studio has built its reputation. Signal-Return espouses four principles that guide its operations and strengthen the creative community in Detroit: Teach, Connect, Serve, and Produce.
